My name is Jo Haverfield and I have been the Vice President for the past 3 years and have been involved with Tahoma Lacrosse since my Junior son, Caden, was in 4th grade.
I am running for the Vice President again because I love the game of Lacrosse and want to continue to help Tahoma Lacrosse grow and organize. The kids are our #1 priority and I have so many ideas to continue to improve the club for the benefit of the boys and girls. I also enjoy the VP responsibilities (website, registrations, scholarships, communications, etc) and I have over 10 years of experience on non-profit athletic boards and bring a wealth of experience to Tahoma Lacrosse.
Thank you for your consideration
It is with great passion and enthusiasm that I respectfully submit my application to serve as Secretary on the Board of Directors for Tahoma Lacrosse Club.
I have served as our Treasurer for the 2016-2017 season and would like to continue serving on Tahoma Lacrosse Board of Directors. I want to continue the improvement process and transparency we have started. My passion is for the continued success of Tahoma Lacrosse Club and everyone within the nonprofit arena and my belief in positive social change for the general membership.
I have over 15 years of experience working in the Administrative and Financial Industry. I would like to help our nonprofit continue to promote and advance the services, programs and policies that build and support the creation of a stable and healthy non profit organization. I have experience in bringing together organization and voices from many different sources to promote healthy business development. Those that have worked with me over this last season can attest to both my passion and involvement in improving the advocacy and collaboration at all levels of Tahoma Lacrosse Club.
Through my experience serving on the board this past season I have made financial improvements, gained insight and a better understanding of the many challenges and opportunities that nonprofits struggle with on an ongoing basis. Moreover, I believe that in order for non-profits to remain successful the general membership must be engaged so that they are heard and understood. I promise to bring a commitment to contributing to the work of Tahoma Lacrosse Club as it moves forward to build a vibrant and effective voice for the club . I would be honored to contribute to that work.
My name is Rebecca Landrey and I am interested in being the next Logistics Coordinator. As a mother of four, two within the Tahoma Lacrosse program, I know the importance of making sure that practice schedules are set and that all parties involved know where they need to be and when.
I think that my experience as a mother and knowing the importance of good field times for our lacrosse players, aides me in being a good fit of this position. I have long wanted to get more involved with the lacrosse club and this is a great place for me to get started.
I thank you for your consideration for this position and look forward to helping out the club any way I can.
Boys Program Director
I've been the Logistics coordinator for the past 2 years and have both TLAX Board experience and a desire to help as the boys program director this year.
Boys Youth Coordinator
I have been a part of the club since my oldest son started playing in the fifth grade and have taken the time to learn about the club and directions it has taken in that time frame. As he moves out of the youth program into the high school program, I’d like to see the continued growth of the youth program, as my youngest son has started to participate at the 3/4 level. I believe the youth program plays an instrumental part in growing and maintaining the membership and players that feed into the high school program and one of the important ways to accomplish this to assure that the players and family’s have an environment that keeps both excited about the game, and that they can learn and prepare themselves for a competitive his school career. I have served on multiple boards ranging from non profits and for profit organizations and understand the dynamics of that environment. I believe I am at a point to move from being a part of the club to taking a more active role and be more involved in the club and hopefully bring value to the players AND their families.
Girls Program Director
My name is Glenna Usselman and I have been the Girls Program Director for the past 2 years. I have been involved with the girls program since my oldest daughter started playing on the Varsity team in 2012.
We have had an amazing year for the Girls program. In the last couple of years we have doubled the number of girls playing Lacrosse with our club!
I am running again for the Girls Program Director because I want to continue to help this program grow and I love being involved with the program and the sport.
Girls Youth Director
My name is Lindsi Wolf, and while I have no official Lacrosse experience, I am interested in helping to keep the girls youth program alive and well. I would like to run for the Girls Youth Director, because I would love to see this program succeed and grow. I would also love to be more involved with the program, and the sport.
I am currently on the new Tahoma Elementary PTO board, and participate in various other volunteer opportunities, so I am fully aware of the importance of volunteers and how much their duties are needed.
My daughter started out with the sport last year as a third grader, in the Cubs program after school. She then participated in the Skills clinic this past Fall, and loved it so much that she is currently on the 3/4 team.
We are learning so much about the sport, and are loving it as a family! We are fully involved, and committed, to the club and to the opportunities that it presents for the kids. My family wants to do everything we can to ensure that the program can continue.
